A DAY IN NYC WITH BANANA REPUBLIC

A few months ago, on the evening of Thursday April 21st, I hopped a redeye flight to NYC to shoot with Banana Republic. I was right in the middle of touring with Us The Duo, so the timing made the opportunity even more thrilling. We literally walked off stage at our show in Colorado, I ran to the dressing room to grab my suitcase, and I was off to the airport! After touching down bright and early in the morning, I stopped by a hotel to freshen up and nap for a few hours.

Once I arrived at the shoot location, I headed straight for wardrobe then hair and makeup. We put together four different looks that I immediately fell in love with. Since it was a street style shoot, we had to take pedicabs from our trailers to the locations…so much fun!

I got to roam the beautiful streets of New York and twirl around in some serious Banana Republic Closet VIPs (Very Important Pieces)! One of my favorites would have to be this statement yellow shirtdress. I love it because it’s neon color and cut give me some serious 70’s vibes which I’m all about. We styled it with some fun earrings, black sandal heels, and a fringed clutch…the perfect look for all those hot summer days to come!

Another very versatile piece is this silver open-stitch sweater. We went with a clean and casual monochromatic look with some dark grey denim. This sweater can be styled in so many ways. For instance, I could wear it over my bathing suit on my way to the beach or over a silky slip dress and boots for an effortlessly edgy feel. The options are endless!

This bike look was a fun one to shoot. It was definitely a first for me…riding a bicycle in NYC streets and in heels! This outfit is so chic and classic. My favorite piece is the striped top with the bell sleeves (available August 1st!). Another nod to one of my favorite decades.

Last but not least, can we just talk about this floral dress look? It’s the ideal get up for a dinner date night with bae. I’m obsessed with the colors on this maxi dress and never wanted to stop spinning around in it! We topped it off with a denim jacket to tie in the blues from the dress and shoes. My favorite part about the dress is the slit to show off some leg and heel action. It gives the whole look a touch of sexy all while staying very classy. (Dress available end of July!)

Needless to say, this shoot was a blast. Although my visit was short, (I went straight back to the airport from the shoot to meet back up with the tour crew in Vegas for a show the next night!) it was the perfect way to spend my day. Who wouldn’t love shooting in the beautiful NY streets while playing dress up with Banana Republic all day?! The whole BR team was so welcoming and did an incredible job…I cannot wait to see these photos come to life! The images will be used in stores and mailers, so if you see me, take a photo and tag me in it!
