Tonight I wanted to take some time for you to get to know me a little better while also letting you babes in on a few of my favorite tips! With that being said, I'm doing my first-ever #AskWearIAm! Earlier on Twitter (@carissaalvarado), I asked for you to send any fashion or beauty related questions that you had for me using the hashtag. I was thrilled to see all your inquiries file in, so I chose five of my faves to answer. Let's get started!
My favorite fashion trend right now (and forever) would have to be mixing masculine and feminine pieces. I'm a sucker for edgy vintage rock style, so naturally I love ripped boyfriend jeans and pairing it with a sexy mesh body suit or bralette and choker for a girly touch. Check out one of my recent fave looks here!
They weren't joking when they said "It hurts to be beautiful!" But it doesn't always have to be that way. My tip would be to always try them on before you buy! Even if you purchase online, make sure you check the return policy. If you're able to get them in store, I suggest putting them on and walking around for a bit. Take your time, maybe keep browsing the store while wearing them. If they start to hurt in 10 minutes, you know you won't be able to last a whole night in those bad boys. But if you can dance around in them for a while, pain free, then you've got a winner! Everybody's feet are different and we all have a different pain tolerance, depending on how much we wear heels and such. So it's all about learning what you like. If you're not much of a heel kinda person, maybe go for a shorter heel or wedge to add a bit of height and to still get the sexy feel that you'd get wearing stilettos! Also, sometimes spending a bit more money goes a long way. As hard as that is for us, it's true. The more expensive the shoe, the better the quality usually!
As fun as it is to get all dolled up, I'm all about comfy clothes! I dig when you can throw on a casual outfit and look cute without trying too hard.
What I suggest doing when you look tired are a few things. One would be concealer under your eyes. I naturally have eye bags, tired or not, so this is something I do every day. After applying my all-over face foundation, I put on NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer in Ginger, blend it in with a damp Beauty Blender, and set it with Laura Mercier setting powder. Next, a bit of blush will help give life to your face so it doesn't look too pale. Curl your lashes to wake up your eyes a bit and maybe add a few swipes of mascara. Lastly, add a highlight to the inner corner of your eyes and even a light liner to the inside of your bottom waterline. This is such a simple step, but it truly opens up your eyes to make you appear less tired!
Well loves, I hope you learned more about me and that I was able to help out in some ways! This was a lot of fun and I can't wait to do another #AskWearIAm soon. Thanks for the questions! xo.
