MIXING TEXTURES

Velvet, suede, knits...oh my! Textures are a huge fall trend this year, so why not have fun with it? I'm all about pattern and tonal mixing, so naturally, mixing textures also comes into play. 'Tis the season to get texture crazy!

As we get ready for fall, it's time to rearrange our closets and make sure they're filled with all things fuzzy and fun to touch. It's the time where velvet, suede and fur can shine like the stars that they truly are. I've always loved velvet, and now it's a fashion must-have for fall. I had a lot of fun with this look in particular. Every article had a different feel to offer...literally! This Zara jacket has a shiny velvet material that I can't seem to keep my hands off of. It's such a fun piece to take this otherwise basic everyday look to another level. The jacket layered perfectly over this extremely comfortable knit sweater. I then slipped into these fun leather shorts to give the outfit an edgy boost. And as if the look wasn't multi-textured enough, I went with, yet again, another material: this grey knee-high suede boot for the final fall touch. Because nothing says fall/winter like a good pair of boots, right? (Tip: As we slowly make our transition to the chilly season, but still have to deal with the dragging heat of summer, try wearing a tall boot with a shorter cut bottom like shorts or a cropped dress. It's a fun and flirty way to make more use of our winter boots year-round!)

What are your favorite textures for the upcoming season? Do you dare to try mixing them all?
