Staying fit and eating right are very important keys to living a healthy and happy life. No matter how hard it is to get motivated to get up and moving, there is no better feeling than accomplishing a great work out. Another great motivator to get your booty to the gym is a cute outfit, of course! This amazing get up from Bandier gives me perfect reason to hit the treadmill. If you want to know what my basic workout routine is, keep on reading...
After taking a few minutes to stretch out, I like to start off with some cardio. Stretching before exercising is a must as you don't want to pull any muscles during your workout. Sometimes I like to spin for cardio to switch it up, but I usually run outside with my pup or jog on the treadmill. (A tip I recently learned and found super helpful, is to set a distance goal instead of setting a time while running. I like to run at least 1.5 miles on the treadmill and up my distance each time. You don't want to sell yourself short when you work out. If you don't push yourself, you won't progress the way you want!)
After cardio, I move on to strength training. My routine varies and switches between arms, legs, glutes, and ab exercises. Today, I focused on my arms. I like to alternate between light weight exercises, machines, and classic push ups. I keep the weights fairly light as I personally don't want to build huge muscles, I mainly want to keep my arms lean and toned. One of my favorite workouts are spiderman crunches with a push up. This works out arms and core all at once which I love. You start in push up position, then you raise your right knee towards your right arm pit then replace it, do the same with the left knee, then one push up after both sides. That is one rep and I do 10 reps of those. It's fun, challenging, and works out multiple areas of your body. WIN!
After strength training, I like to take time to cool down. I either do some light cardio and walk on the treadmill or even do some yoga to relax and get that after workout stretch in.
And there you have it, my simplified workout routine. Your body is truly a temple, so it's extremely important to take care of it. We all have different body types and goals, but one thing we all have in common is that we all want to feel good. When you eat right and give your body the proper exercise it needs, I promise it will affect your mind and soul leaving you feeling 10 times happier! So I challenge you to find your routine and get started on living a healthier and better life today...you got this!
